Private yoga is a completely personalized experience that is customized just for you (or for you and a friend/partner) and lets you set the schedule. This allows me to tailor the session specifically to your needs and work closely with your unique abilities and challenges to help you feel your best on – and off – the mat.

Private yoga is a great option for anyone - from absolute beginner to someone with years of practice.
If you’ve never tried yoga before, it can often feel intimidating to join a class without knowing what to expect. Dipping your toes in the water with a private session allows you to ask plenty of questions as we work through the postures and movements at your own pace, and will help you gain the knowledge and confidence to join studio classes when you’re ready.
If you’re a more experienced yoga practitioner, private yoga sessions are perfect for working toward a specific goal. For example, you may want to focus on fine-tuning your body's alignment, learning a certain yoga pose like an arm balance, or preparation/recovery for other physical activities like golf season or cycling.
Special circumstances & injury support:
Private yoga is also very beneficial if you’re working with an injury or other physical limitation. I have experience providing support for private clients with a wide range of special circumstances such as sciatica, vertigo, arthritis, asthma, migraines, paralysis, frozen shoulder, wrist pain, knee pain, and more. By working together one-on-one, we can identify modifications that are appropriate for your body - no matter what its needs are - and find ways to make yoga a therapeutic part of your life. (Please note that I am NOT a doctor; yoga should only be added as a supplement to your medical care after you get the green light from your care team!)
Private group yoga blends the experience of a public studio class with the more individualized experience of a private session to create a tailor-made class that is customized just for your group’s needs and circumstances. This is perfect for special occasions like weddings, birthdays, family gatherings, employee team-building, or simply to share yoga with a group of your friends.
Shenanigans are welcome and encouraged when it's just your group!

What will a private session be like?
I will create a customized plan for you based on your goals, level of experience, and any requests you may make. Over time, the sessions can become more and more personalized as you become more familiar with the practice and I get to know you and the ways you move.
Depending on your goals, your session may be a combination of any of the following:
Many people are feeling touch-starved these days, and receiving plenty of hands on assists is a valuable added benefit to private yoga! I will always ask for your permission before touching you, and these tools of touch are intended to help you find the optimal alignment and movement for your body, encourage more strength or space, help you connect with your breath, and simply just find ease and connection through a comforting touch.
Your session can be held in person (if you're local to Midland) at the location of your choice: in the convenience of your home, at my yoga studio Midland Yoga Co-op, at my home yoga space, or somewhere else. Virtual private sessions are also available through Zoom. Generally, if it is our first time meeting, we will arrange to meet at a location other than our homes. If we meet in person, you are encouraged to use your own yoga props, but I can also provide everything you may need. A basic session is one hour of yoga practice, plus up to 15 minutes to discuss any concerns, requests, questions, etc before or after; additional time may be requested for an additional cost.
